Our VISION
Hard work. Support. Success.
Founded in 2017, Act Two is a network and community for working Screenwriters.
Writing is an isolating job by nature, and Screenwriting is especially competitive, creating an environment where few Screenwriters get a chance to meet their fellows, let alone learn from them and support them in their careers.
The goal of Act Two is to bring together professional Screenwriters, those actively working in Film & TV, and offer them a unique opportunity to find both support and creative growth. Rather than caving to the industry norm of cutthroat competition and isolation, Act Two Writers are encouraged to get to know one another through community events, support each other in trying times, congratulate each other in their successes, and even hire one another when there are opportunities. Gone are the days when fear and anonymity rule the way we do business.
Instead, Act Two endeavors to create a fun, active community where kindness, advocacy and learning form the backbone of everything we do.
Whether it’s through fun, creative Mixers or Script Clubs, an Idea Creation Night or a monthly study of the great screenwriting Masters, Act Two is dedicated to the belief that if we as writers stop learning, it is only because we’re dead. And that if we don’t get to know one another and use kindness to lift each other up, then none of us truly rise at all.
The entertainment industry can be a daunting and cruel place. Act Two believes it doesn’t have to be.
